What We Believe

Our vision

Our Vision

To be a contemporary church, yet absolutely committed to the Scriptures and sensitive to the lessons learned from the great spiritual awakenings of the past. To carry the gospel to every corner of our community and beyond.

  • To embrace warm and meaningful worship both publicly and in our private lives.
  • To be true to the word of God where others have flinched.
  • To be true to New Testament grace where others have added man-made rules.
  • To practice conservative Christianity with a spirit of grace.
  • To send our own young people to foreign mission fields.

Since we believe that God has explicitly or implicitly expressed his will in these matters, we have every confidence that our prayers for these things will be answered. We expect our “vision” to be realized because God would have it be so.

Statement of Faith

Scripture

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, absolute in its authority, complete in its revelation, final in its content and without error.

The Godhead

The one true God exists eternally as a trinity of persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

The Lord Jesus Christ is fully God. He became also fully man at His incarnation. He was born of a virgin, crucified, buried and raised bodily from the dead on the third day. His death was a penal and substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of the world and His resurrection manifests God’s satisfaction with His shed blood for the remission of sins. He is now ascended up to the right hand of the Father where He makes intercession for the saints, and He will someday come to earth the second time to reign in power and great glory.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Ghost is fully God. He is a person having intellect, will and emotion, the possessor of divine and personal names and attributes, and the doer of divine and personal acts. He is the divine Agent in the heart of the Christian by which consecration and fruitful living are made possible.

Salvation

Salvation is obtained only by grace through faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, and outside of Christ’s blood is no merit or saving righteousness of any kind. Salvation is obtained instantly at the moment of belief, and is secure eternally. The saved of every age shall enjoy everlasting conscious blessedness, while the lost shall endure everlasting conscious punishment.

Consecration

Christians, being born of the Spirit, are to live their new lives in the present power of the Spirit. The Christian’s responsibility is to yield himself to God in order that, through his yielding, the lost might be saved and the saved strengthened.

The Church

The Church is composed of all saints who have been baptized by the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ upon their belief in the gospel. Local churches are God’s chosen means for carrying out His perfect will on earth during this present age. The Church, as the body of Christ, began with the events of Acts 2 and shall continue until it is caught up to meet the Lord in the air. It is to observe the ordinances of believers’ baptism and the Lord’s Supper until that day.
